Hello! I'm Lara, a design practitioner with a passion for creating experiences that make people's lives easier and more enjoyable.

My experience includes working in publishing (The New York Times), tech (Docusign, Square, Workday, Twitter), cultural institutions (the Exploratorium Museum), and education (School of Visual Arts, NY School of Interior Design, PRATT, California College of Arts). I've freelanced throughout my career for companies that include Uber, Oakland Museum of Arts, and wrote a book about typography. I love teaching and mentoring, and use this skillset to nurture talent and drive continuous learning within teams.

I'm a firm believer in the power of human-centered design and love using design thinking to tackle complex problems. This includes reimagining how AI can enhance products (while at Docusign) and creating inclusive work environments (at Workday). I'm always up for a challenge that pushes the boundaries of what design can achieve.

My work has been recognized by AIGA, featured in PRINT magazine, and I’m a two time recipient of the Ideas that Matter grant from Sappi Paper.

When I'm not designing or teaching, you’ll catch me doing and teaching Yoga, walking my dogs, making things with my hands, and eating avocados.
